The last son of two Hall of Fame legends of the Arabian breed passed away on the Jack Tone Ranch this Fall. He is survived by four full sisters, ranging in age from 23 to 29; two daughters and a son at Jack Tone Ranch.
Sa-Fadjur+/ was known and admired world-wide for his extremes in beauty and proudness. A magnificent grey stallion of 15’3" and perfect Arabian type, Sa-Fadjur+/ inspired Arabian-lovers everywhere shown. He was bred by renowned Arabian horse breeder, Marjory F. Tone and trained by her daughter Kathleen Tone Hammer. Sa-Fadjur+/ was shown to many of his halter championships by Tone's son-in-law Paul Polk. Kathleen Tone Hammer and her daughter Peggy Hammer Morrissey showed Sa-Fadjur+/ to numerous Class A and Regional Championships in Halter, English Pleasure and Side Saddle; his last big win was with Peggy -- Region III Top 5 English Sidesaddle at the age of 21.
Sa-Fadjur+/ sired 66 foals (174 grand-get through 1997), including exports to Brazil, champions in many divisions, Regional Champions, top endurance horses and producers of champions.
Jack Tone Ranch has retained two Sa-Fadjur daughters and a son to carry on his legacy. The memory of Sa-Fadjur+/'s presence will be here forever. His image is there each time we walk by his stall in the Green Barn. He was loved for 31 years and helped to immortalize the historic Jack Tone Ranch.
