Fadjurs Prize (Fadjur x Marjianazemtu -- Fadjur x Suranazem)
had some really big horseshoes to fill. When Fadjurs Prize was only 2 years old, we lost his sire, the Fabulous Fadjur. It was a very difficult time for us, as Fadjur really was so much more than just a horse; he was a member of our family. Fadjur's stall and pasture remained empty for a few months, but soon it became apparent to Marge Tone that it was more sad to have his stall empty. We thought very highly of Fadjurs Prize, and he was the perfect age to move in. Little did we know just how much Fadjurs Prize would grow to be like Fadjur! Fadjurs Prize is a darker bay than Fadjur, his sock is on the opposite hind leg, and he barely has a faint little star . . . his coloring doesn't immediately strike you as being Fadjur: but we know of no other horse in this world who is more *like* the Fabulous Fadjur than Fadjurs Prize! (last year at our 150th anniversary celebration, Fadjurs Prize "played" Fadjur by pasting a Star on his forehead & painting a left rear sock, painting the right rear black -- it was such a startling resemblance, I couldn't get a photograph through the tears in my eyes!!) Fadjurs Prize inherited his sire's disposition, much of his personality, his charisma -- even the manner in which he carries himself -- and most importantly, Fadjurs Prize is siring so much like Fadjur himself that it's as if Fadjur still lives among us. We've had amazing success in our breeding program, crossing Fadjurs Prize with his sisters to produce triple, quadruple, and even 5x the blood of Fadjur. "The proof is in the pudding." There will never be another Fadjur. But we are very lucky because we still have horses of his quality, type, presence, and something really special in the foals of Fadjurs Prize. Thanks to Marjory F. Tone for her vision and foresight, and her skill as a breeder of magnificent Arabian horses!! (Marge and Fadjur made quite a team...)
Fadjurs Prize stands at stud at the Jack Tone Ranch, $2500 / $800. He is IAHA Breeder's Sweepstakes Nominated, a Champion, sire of Champions, great riding horse, and great fun to be around.
